Islanders Player Pascal Morency Suspended for Role in Hit

Islanders’ forward Pascal Morency has been suspended for the rest of the preseason and five regular season games for his role in the chaos that ensued after the Dion Phaneuf hit. Morency is being suspended for jumping off the bench to try and fight Phaneuf after Phaneuf hit Kyle Okposo Thursday night.

The league has also stated that Phaneuf’s hit was legal and Phaneuf will not face any suspension.
