Brett Favre Suffers Fingernail Injury

I feel like there are four or five half-assembled possible jokes floating around in my head right now, but I can’t put any of them together, so instead here’s the story: Brett Favre’s injury Sunday was nothing serious. In fact, it was a mere bent fingernail:

↵↵“Not a fractured thumb, or a dislocated wrist, or a season-ending†injury, Childress said, playfully needling reporters about the heightened interest in any Favre-related information.

↵“He bent his fingernail,†Childress said. “That hurts, too. For those of you who have fingernails, that hurts.â€

↵↵After reading Childress’s quotes, the immediate reaction of “Ha, a fingernail?! What a nancy!” quickly gives way to the desire to get very angry at Brad Childress. After all, it’s his fault people are even still talking about Brett Favre. He’s the one enabling all this. And he’s the one getting smarmy with the media? Really?
