Just a bit ago, this came through my New York Times sports RSS feed:
Note to the New York Giants: Football Cliches Not Always the Winning Strategy
↵↵Giants Like the Outcomes but Are Puzzled by the Method
↵The Giants are 2-0 even though their offense has had trouble running the ball and its defense has had trouble stopping the run.
↵↵This is because, as documented frequently by Football Outsiders (and others), you must not always run the football to win the game, nor must you effectively stop the run before you stop the pass. You must do both! Failing that, you need to score points, and passing comes in handy in such situations.
