Mike Tirico just made this point on the MNF broadcast: It has been 10 years since Ricky Williams came into the league, 10 years since Mike Ditka made his oh-so-brilliant draft day franchise mortgaging trade to acquire him. More interesting than the time-flies-by aspect to Tirico’s comment is how much different Williams’s career could have been. And, given Williams’s choices, how lucky he is to still be having semi-productive years in the National Football League. It could have been better, but it could have been a lot worse.
