A new name has crept up this week on the ‘Add’ list due to injury. The Dallas Cowboys workhorse RB Marion Barber has a strained quad and there are mixed reports about his status for Monday night. Some reports say day-to-day or that he’s 50/50 to play, others say he’s almost assuredly going to miss this week and possibly more. In the meantime, most Barber owners have probably already snagged Tashard Choice as a replacement, or had him handcuffed to Barber from the start. But if Chocie is still available in your league, you might want to grab him if you need RB help. For one game, he might do you some good.
Another Choice for Your ‘Add’ List
The guy at the KFFL blog says this:
We now know that starter Marion Barber III (quadriceps) has a good chance to miss one or two weeks, despite recent reports saying he might play in Week 3. An absence by Barber would elevate Choice behind Felix Jones. However, Choice is merely a temporary solution until Barber comes back, and Jones in two weeks of play has averaged 6.5 touches per game for 59 yards. He has zero receptions and one total touchdown. Choice is not a slam dunk but worth grabbing as Jones has yet to show he can carry a full load.
Well, as a Cowboys blogger in my other life, I can tell you that if Barber can’t go, you can count on Chocie this week. He proved himself last year when he ran through some of the best defenses in the NFL at the end of the season when Barber and Felix Jones were hurt. Choice is a very capable back and the Cowboys offense puts up points. Felix Jones will get more touches in Barber’s absence, but Choice will be getting plenty of carries, too. He’ll also be the goal line back in most situations and Choice can also catch out of the backfield. That makes him a good play if Barber is out and you need a RB.
