Lynel Hamilton Runs with the Big Boys

Lynel Hamilton may start showing up on your transaction list and you probably haven’t heard of him. First off, he plays for the Saints and that means fantasy points. Hamilton got the starting reps at running back on Wednesday. Jeff Duncan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune tweeted that Hamilton expects to get a “heavy load” against Buffalo.

What does this mean for fantasy owners? A mad dash to the free agency pool? Well, that depends. Could you really use a flex player for one game? Then it might be worth the risk, but there’s a good chance you already have someone of similar or better skills.

The real impact of this news is for Pierre Thomas owners. Could there be a player that has disappointed more than the PT Cruiser? With Mike Bell going down to injury it looked like Thomas could reassert himself and grab the starting RB position back, but unless things change during the week it’s looking like Thomas will be limited once again. We’ll keep a close eye on this situation so stay tuned.
