You may recall this from back in March: Tiger, in just his third tournament (and first victory) since knee surgery, drained a 15-footer to cap a five-stroke final round comeback and beat Sean O’Hair by one at Bay Hill :
Tiger, O’Hair Have a Bit of History
Flash forward to this past Wednesday, when the two met again, although this time for a putting lesson, not competition:
Curiously enough, O’Hair is succeeding in part because of a putting tip he received from Woods. O’Hair said that he was delofting the putter during the backswing, which led to difficulty in releasing the putter at contact.
O’Hair was impressed that Woods would offer a tip to him.
“I think the thing that impresses me more is the quality of guy he is,” O’Hair said. “I mean, I’m his competition, and for him to help me out like he did was very classy, I thought. ”
In the first round, O’Hair drained two long birdie putts — one from 55 feet, another from 18 — to help solidify his early lead. The only proper conclusion to the week is to have O’Hair and Tiger paired together on Sunday.
