Yesterday marked the 25th anniversary of the longest point ever played in a professional tennis match (a fact surely you needn’t be reminded of). The epic lasted 29 minutes, and didn’t finish until the 643rd shot. To compare, Andy Murray and Julien Benneteau recently had a 53-shot rally — it was the longest point either of them could remember playing.
