Fantasy Scouting Report: Arizona Cardinals
Kurt Warner – While I’d never suggest sitting Kurt Warner, especially when his receiving corps is very close to 100%, but the Indianapolis Colts present an interesting challenge. The Colts secondary has been nothing short of spectacular so far this season allowing just 139 yards passing per game but the Cardinals are much more explosive than the Colts previous two opponents (Jags and Dolphins). Despite the success the Colts’ have experienced, Kurt Warner is an amazing starter in the comfy confines of University of Phoenix Stadium. Last year in eight regular season games he threw 17 touchdowns versus just five interceptions and averaged over 290 yards per game.
Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin - Let’s face it, if you have either of these guys they are in your starting lineup.
Steve Breaston – Breaston is getting healthier and healthier meaning that he’s becoming more and more fantasy relevant. He led the team in receiving yards last week and he might return to punt and kick returns this week. If your fantasy league awards points for return yardage, Breaston is a solid fantasy option.
Tim Hightower and Beanie Wells – The Colts defense has allowed over 175 yards per game on the ground but that doesn’t exactly mean that Hightower or Wells should be in your starting lineup. If you’ve got Highower he’s a decent option only because he’s receiving the bulk of the goal line carries and he’s threat out of the backfield, but his yardage totals won’t do you any favors. Hightower and Wells have split carries evenly so far this season so their fantasy value is not much but if you’re ever going to start one of them, it might be this week.
