It’s hard to win when you turn the ball over twice…unless you can grab four take-aways. There wasn’t much scoring but a whole lot of offense for both teams in the USF, Florida State game. USF rumbled for 371 yards of total offense including 156 rushing yards. USF QB B.J. Daniels only completed eight passes but those eight went for 215 yards, two TDs, and two interceptions. However, it was his feet, not his arm, that helped USF win this one. Daniels rushed for a game high 128 yards on the afternoon including a 44 yard scramble. Florida State QB Christian Ponder had a solid game throwing for 272 yards on 24 of 36 passing but four FSU fumbles cost them dearly. Southern South Florida’s 17 points were enough to top the No. 18 team in the country by a score of 17-7. Oh, did I mention that B.J. Daniels is a freshman backup?
