The All Chaos Conference Reigns Again, and Other Escapes

↵↵South Florida 17, Florida State 7. Florida State will be seeing the new face of South Florida football in their nightmares. B.J. Daniels accounted for 343 yards of total offense and passed for two touchdowns in his first collegiate start, and the Bulls’ defensive line harassed Christian Ponder and limited the ‘Noles to just 18 yards rushing. ↵
↵↵Georgia Tech 24, North Carolina 7. The Yellow Jackets swarmed UNC, literally: The Heels gained just 154 yards, including 17 on the ground, went 1-for-11 on third down, and committed three turnovers. Georgia Tech doubled that yardage output with just their option attack, rolling up 317 rushing yards.↵
↵
↵LSU 30, Mississippi State 26. LSU needed a 93-yard punt return and a fantastic goal-line tipped pass from Chad Jones to survive a scare in Starkville. LSU didn't turn the ball over; Mississippi State gave it up four times.↵
↵↵Michigan 36, Indiana 33. Tate Forcier lofted a perfect 26-yarder to Martavious Odoms with 2:29 remaining, and a brutal call on a pick that Donovan Warren appeared to rip from an Indiana receiver sealed the Wolverines’ win.↵
↵↵Cincinnati 28, Fresno State 20. Tony Pike threw for 300 yards and three scores to lead Cincy. Oh, yeah, and the Bearcats held the ball for just 17:18, including just five offensive plays between 8:55 of the second quarter and the beginning of the fourth. ↵
↵↵Virginia Tech 31, Miami 7: Don’t try to predict or pretend to understand the ACC; it’s not worth it.↵
