Braves Win, Whittle Rockies’ Wild Card Lead to 2.5 Games

In 2007, the Rockies mounted one of the most significant winning streaks in baseball history, defying all odds to win the NL wild card (and eventually reach the World Series). This year, the Braves are trying to do the same, and hope to make the most of their final eight games to wrest the wild card from Colorado.

The Rockies lost 6-3 to the NL Central-clinching Cardinals on Saturday night, while the Braves made short work of the Nationals, 11-5. Atlanta has now won 13 of its last 15 games.

Today, the Rockies play the Cardinals at 3:10 ET, while the Braves try to complete a series sweep of the Nationals at 1:35.
