Kenny Perry saved what would have been utter disaster with a saving-par putt from 18 feet after hitting his second shot long again. Tiger Woods has had six pars in a row and can’t make a move, but it’s Phil Mickelson who is really starting to make noise on the golf course.

Mickelson nearly holed out an eagle from 123 yards, instead settling for his third birdie of the day to take a share of the lead with Perry at 7-under.
