Niners RB Frank Gore left early in the team’s Week 3 loss to the Vikings after testing his injured right ankle and being unable to go. Now it looks like the Niners will be without his services for at least the next few weeks. Jason La Confora of NFL Network reports:
Niners RB Gore Injures Ankle; Reportedly Out at Least Two Weeks
Gore is suffering from a high ankle strain and likely will miss at least the next two games, according to a league source. The hope is that he could return after the 49ers’ Week 6 bye.
Preseason star Glen Coffee replaced Gore, and struggled against the Vikings’ stout run defense, gaining 54 yards on 25 carries.
