Donald Brashear Sees You Booing And, Yeah, He Wants to Fight About It

Donald Brashear, the former Washington Capitals enforcer, didn’t exactly endear himself to Rangers fans a few months back when he sidelined center Blair Betts during the teams’ first-round playoff series with a blindside cheapshot that broke Betts’ orbital bone. Apparently it didn’t sway Rangers management too terribly, though, as they signed Brashear to a two-year deal a few weeks into the offseason.↵↵Clearly, though, the Rangers faithful have not forgotten his exploits and made their displeasure known by booing Brashear during his introduction to season ticket holders on Tuesday.↵

↵↵And in most circumstances, that’s where this story would end. Fans get a little cathartic booing in, but eventually they’ll come around to the guy the first time he puts Sidney Crosby or Mike Richards on the ice.↵

↵↵Except Brash don’t truck no booing. ↵

↵↵⇥“Those fans that are booing, I’ll take you one-by-one,” Brashear deadpanned when he reached the stage in the Garden Theatre’s anteroom.↵↵↵And that naturally was when the forward laid waste to each and every Rangers fan, not unlike the scene in Monty Python and the Holy Grail where the one knight storms the castle and kills everyone. Only Brashear didn’t need a sword.↵
