Steve Slaton Loses Redzone Carries

Coach Gary Kubiak says that running back Steve Slaton will lose goalline carries to the often injured Chris Brown.

Kubiak has this to say:

Our goal is to use him basically as a short-yardage runner, a red zone runner and Steve’s (Slaton) backup, so we have to plan to go about our business and hopefully we can keep him healthy. But he’s shown flashes this preseason that he’s still got it in him. That’s important to our team.

Yes, Slaton owners, it is time to worry! And for those of you who haven’t drafted yet it is time to move Slaton down your rankings sheet. The only saving grace for those of you (us) with Slaton on your (our) teams is that Chris Brown, now that Fred Taylor is too old to get hurt, is the new fragile player we can make fun of!

This will help keep Slaton from getting hurt, but will also keep him from getting into the endzone, Ugh. He’s now a second round pick at best and Brown is his handcuff with potential for a chunk of touchdowns.

I hate to wish anyone ill, but Mr. Brown, do your thing!
