Favre Fined 10K For Crackback, Will Readjust Stubble Budget

As expected, Brett Favre, the gunslinging land baron hero to rural Wrangler jeans stockholders everywhere, has been fined $10,000 for his illegal crackback block on safety Eugene Wilson last Monday. Probably won’t harm a guy who’s making $12 million in a year in which he got to skip training camp, but it’s a nice sign that Favre can’t get away with anything.

↵Monday Morning Punter at WithLeather made a strong point this week about the disingenuous about-face that longtime Favre apologists have made regarding the guy’s recent behavior. Where once he could do no wrong according to these people, years and years of repellent wavering and blatant acts of self-interest have finally started to register, albeit startlingly quickly. It seems like a guy who claims to be his cousin on Twitter remains one his few stubbornly steadfast defenders.

↵Few believe that Favre had malicious intent when he dove backward at Wilson’s legs - though Eugene’s agent is still waiting on an apology - but it’s hard not to be frustrated when the NFL TV chattering class only now latches on to what so many had realized years ago.↵
