Phil Kessel has cut off negotiations with the Boston Bruins, saying he’s open to offers from other teams now.

    Brian Burke Speaks About Possible Moves

    “I’ve got nothing to say about any of it,’’ said Burke, when asked if he were on the verge of adding Kessel, a restricted free agent, to his roster. “Sorry, I’m just not going to go there.’’With the moves that Burke made yesterday to reacquire his second round pick, Burke has set himself up for an offer sheet that can range anywhere from $3-4 million.

    The Boston Globe is also reporting this morning that the Predators and Rangers are having talks with the Bruins to acquire Kessel. The Bruins are looking to resign him at a cap hit of about $3.75 million per year.

    Maple Leafs Ready To Make a Move?

    Bob Mackenzie of TSN.ca is reporting that the Toronto Maple Leafs and Chicago Blackhawks have swapped draft picks. The Leafs sent a second and third round pick in 2011 in exchange for a second round pick in 2010 that used to belong to the Leafs.

    On the surface it appears to be a strange trade for the Leafs but Mackenzie explains that it may lead to a bigger move by the Leafs.
