Cadillac Named Starter in Tampa
Remember Cadillac Williams? Fifth pick in the 2005 draft out of Auburn. NFL rookie of the year. Missed the last two years with a series of injuries, including two devastating patella tendon tears.
Well he's back as Tampa Bay's starting running back. Just weeks after fantasy owners went crazy thinking Derrick Ward was the poor man's Michael Turner - a great backup finally getting his chance someplace else as the featured back - Tampa coach Raheem Morris killed the buzz with the announcement that the team would use a 2-2-1 running back committee, with Derrick Ward taking the first two series, Earnest Graham the following two, and Cadillac Williams the next series. And now comes word that Morris has changed the plan yet again, moving Williams into the top spot, followed by Ward and Graham.
Williams is an obvious pickup in all formats. The running back situation in Tampa is so fluid right now that it's certainly conceivable that he could end up getting the majority of the carries if he impresses in his first few outings. Downgrade Ward from a decent RB2 to RB3, and feel free to dump Graham if space is tight on your bench.
