Report: Jerry Wainwright Out As DePaul Basketball Coach

A source has told ESPN.com that DePaul has decided Jerry Wainwright will not remain the head coach of the Blue Demons and will make the announcement at a news conference Monday morning.

It would be the icing on the cake for Wainwright’s week. He suffered a a torn MCL and fractured tibia in a collision with a player on Wednesday.

DePaul is off to a 0-3 start in the Big East, 7-8 overall and is coming off a season in which they went 0-18 in the Big East, finishing 9-24 overall. Wainwright is 59-80 (.419) over 4+ seasons at DePaul.

Congrats to the folks at FireJerryWainwright.com, who seem to have met their stated objective.
