Sidney Crosby’s One-Hander

Love him or loathe him, Sidney Crosby is enjoying a fantastic year in the goal-scoring department. While his assist total is slightly lowered from what we’re used to, the 22-year-old is set for a new career-high in goals by season’s end. Taking a page out of Alexander Ovechkin’s book, Crosby is shooting the puck consistently and is currently tied with the Russian in tallies (27) although he’s played nine more matches. Regardless, who would’ve presumed he’d be in the mix for a Rocket Richard Trophy?

↵On Saturday, Crosby put the nail in the coffin against the Toronto Maple Leafs creating a 4-1 lead that would be the final scoreline. By moving his feet continuously, he got through Tomas Kaberle and tipped the disc through Jonas Gustavsson’s legs with one hand on the stick.

↵↵“I just tried to get my stick on it,” Crosby said. “It was kind of a broken play.”
