In an interview with online magazine PVT Mag, Lyoto Machida's father and lifelong coach, Yoshizo, shared his thoughts on the potential super fight between Lyoto and his good friend Anderson Silva.
↵↵↵There is only one champion, so I believe this fight must happen. It's a professional issue, and I believe they can fight. Deep down, everyone wants to know who is strongest. Friendship is friendship, but they're not amateurs. The eventual winner isn't my concern. What matters to me is how they win, and their strategy. This would be a mental battle.

This is a very interesting development to say the least. Either Dana White has finally convinced at least one member of the Machida family that fighting your friends can actually be fun, or Yoshizo truly believes that in order for his son to test and prove himself as a true champion, a fight with Anderson Silva is one he must take.
↵And considering the strong father and son bond the Machidas seem to share, you can bet that these comments will be a factor in Lyoto's decision process should this fight eventually come to fruition.
