Mike Tice Announced As Bears O-Line Coach

Though it was thought that Mike Tice was interviewing for the vacant offensive coordinator position in Chicago, Tice was announced today as being the new offensive line coach for the Bears.

From ProFootball Talk:

Mike Tice will leave his job as assistant head coach/ tight ends in Jacksonville for Chicago, where he will be the offensive line coach. There was thought Tice may have been interviewing with the Bears for their vacant offensive coordinator position.

[...]

Tice’s departure, technically for a downgrade in title, is just another hint at potential lingering weirdness in Jacksonville.

Tice coached the Vikings for part of the 2001 season through 2005. He had been in Jacksonville since 2006 when he was hired as the assistant head coach. He was given the tight end coaching duties this past season.
