UNC’s Tyler Zeller Rermains Injury Prone, Will Miss 4-6 Weeks

After suffering a pair of losses in the last two weeks, a major injury will shorten Roy Williams’s bench for a significant amount of time.

According to FoxSports.com’s Jeff Goodman, Tar Heels forward Tyler Zeller will miss the next 4-6 weeks with a stress fracture in his right foot. Zeller missed Wednesday’s game against Clemson, but the severity of the injury was unknown at the time.

While he's only averaging a pedestrian 9.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game, Zeller's injury means freshman Travis and David Wear, and John Henson will see increased minutes backing up Ed Davis and Deon Thompson.

A sophomore, Zeller missed 23 of his team’s 38 games last season after breaking his wrist while trying excite the Dean Dome in a game against Kentucky. He failed miserably.

The news comes at a bad time. Rolling into Chapel Hill this weekend is Georgia Tech and 6'10" Derrick Favors. I expect him to get fed the ball, frequently.
