One of the biggest knocks on Boise State this year was that the Broncos didn’t play any truly difficult opponents between their season-opening bout with Oregon and their Fiesta Bowl showdown with fellow undefeated mid-major TCU.
Boise State-Nebraska? And We Only Have To Wait Five Years
↵The Broncos have an opportunity to fix that … in the year 2015. Nebraska has offered a two-for-one deal that would see Boise play a pair of games in Lincoln in return for the ‘Huskers traveling to Idaho and trying to find blue-clad Broncos on the smurf turf. There’s apparently been no word from Boise officials.
↵Corn Nation, our Nebraska blog, thinks this is a good idea. And some Boise fans seem irritated that State hasn’t taken the deal.
↵
↵Yeah, Nebraska gets two of the three home games, but Boise State gets a home game against a marquee national championship contender plus a huge payday. There would be no trouble selling out that one, and I’m sure that it would make at least a primetime game on ESPN.

Of course, if the buzz is to be believed, Boise will be part of an improved, BCS-certified Mountain West Conference by then. Which would make this one of those rare inter-BCS-conference battles.
↵Either way, a win for college football fans.
