In Progress: No. 4 Villanova Battling St. Johns At Madison Square Garden

New York, NY (Sports Network) - Scottie Reynolds scored 19 points and Corey Fisher added 18, as fourth-ranked Villanova used a second-half spurt to pull away for an 81-71 victory over St. John's at Madison Square Garden.

Maalik Wayns chipped in 16 points for the Wildcats (18-1, 7-0 Big East), who have won nine straight since their lone loss of the season on December 13 at Temple. Villanova is the lone unbeaten team in Big East play and is off to its best start since the 1950-51 team also opened with 18 wins in its first 19 games.

Dwight Hardy scored 19 points for St. John's (12-7, 2-5), which has dropped two in a row.
