Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Greg Monroe scored 21 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, leading 12th-ranked Georgetown to an easy 88-63 victory over Rutgers at the Verizon Center.

Chris Wright added 16 points and Austin Freeman chipped in 14 for the Hoyas (15-3, 6-2 Big East), who were coming off a 74-66 win at Pittsburgh on Wednesday, snapping the Panthers' 31-game home winning streak. Georgetown has won four of its last five and faces a tough week ahead with a visit to Syracuse on Monday and a home game next Saturday against Duke.

Monroe made 10-of-12 field goals and notched his eighth double-double of the season. He also contributed six assists in the victory.

Jonathan Mitchell scored 21 points for the Scarlet Knights (9-10, 0-7), who have lost eight straight games and are the only team winless in Big East play. It was the second straight blowout loss against an upper echelon team for Rutgers, which suffered a 94-68 setback to fourth-ranked Villanova on Wednesday.
