Athens, GA (Sports Network) - Trey Thompkins had 21 points and eight rebounds, as Georgia upended eighth-ranked Tennessee, 78-63, snapping a 10-game losing streak to the Volunteers.
Travis Leslie totaled 19 points, nine boards and seven assists for the Bulldogs (9-8, 1-3 SEC), who hadn't won in this series since February 21, 2004. Ricky McPhee scored 11 points, while Jeremy Price and Dustin Ware both contributed nine points in Georgia's first win in four games overall.
Scotty Hopson finished with 19 points and five steals for Tennessee (15-3, 3-1), which was riding a seven-game winning streak. Bobby Maze donated 11 points in defeat.
