Vikings Perpetuating Meme, Risking Greatest Ironic Pantsing of All Time

This is Larry Platt, singer of “Pants On the Ground,” with Minnesota Vikings tight end Visanthe Shiancoe. This is Platt performing the song at the Vikings’ team meeting this morning:

This isn’t as bad as it looks. Normally, I would worry about the focus of a team allowing memes to roam freely in the locker room, but the Vikings have made it to the NFC Championship Game with a guy whose looseness is so legendary, his cheeky congratulations were the subject of an ESPN column.

I think it’s safe to assume whatever FOX has done to embed Platt with the Vikes and promote American Idol one more interloper from the world of pop culture won’t throw them off, especially if the Prince song didn’t.

I do have an idea about what the Superdome might sing if the Vikings get blown out, though.
