Andy Roddick Survives Fernando Gonzalez In Five-Setter, Will Face Cilic In Quarters

Andy Roddick is through to the quarterfinals of the Australian Open after defeated Fernando Gonzalez in a five-set match early Sunday morning. Roddick fought back from down two sets to one to win sets four and five in a three hour, 25 minute contest.

Roddick used his serve and consistent play to win the match, tallying 32 aces, no double faults and just 17 unforced errors to 68 winners. Roddick was broken twice by Gonzalez, but held serve after being down break point in the fourth set, which proved to be a turning point in the match.
