Florida State Holds Off No. 19 Georgia Tech, 68-66
Tallahassee, FL (Sports Network) - Chris Singleton scored a career-high 23 points on 9-of-17 shooting, and Florida State defeated 19th-ranked Georgia Tech, 68-66, in a tight ACC battle at Donald L. Tucker Center.
Singleton added seven rebounds for the Seminoles (15-4, 3-2 ACC), who improved to a solid 10-1 at home this season. Solomon Alabi added 14 points, seven rebounds and two critical free throws with 22.8 ticks left that put FSU ahead for good.
Brian Oliver scored a career-best 20 points for Georgia Tech (14-5, 3-3), which had won three of its previous four, including wins over traditional conference powers Duke and UNC. Iman Shumpert and Derrick Favors each had 10 points in the setback, and Favors added 10 rebounds for the Yellow Jackets.
