No. 2 Kansas Hosts Rival Missouri In Big 12 Action
Lawrence, KS (Sports Network) - Cole Aldrich dominated the paint with 12 points, 16 rebounds and seven blocks, and the second-ranked Jayhawks built up a big first-half lead and cruised down the stretch for an 84-65 win over Missouri.
Marcus Morris added 17 points and nine rebounds for Kansas (19-1, 5-0 Big 12), which won its 54th straight game at home by outrebounding the Tigers, 56-28. Tyrel Reed had 14 points on 4-of-4 shooting from beyond the arc, while Markieff Morris, Brady Morningstar and Xavier Henry each had nine points in the win.
Markieff Morris also added 11 rebounds to make up a poor offensive effort by Sherron Collins, who had six points on 2-of-11 shooting.
Justin Safford led Missouri (15-5, 3-2) with 19 points and seven rebounds, but the Tigers lost their 11th straight game in Lawrence, dating back to 1999. Zaire Taylor added 11 points, while Kim English had nine in defeat.
