After missing nearly all of last season as a Yankee, outfielder Xavier Nady will get a chance to play in '10 with the Cubs. The two sides have agreed to a one-year deal worth around $5 million. Nady underwent his second Tommy John operation after just seven games in '09. The deal is dependent on a physical exam of the surgically repaired arm.

In his last full season back in '08, Nady split time between the Pirates and Yankees. He had a .305 BA, 25 homers and .867 OPS. As Al Yellon at Bleed Cubbie Blue points out, Nady will make for a nice fill-in against lefties for Kosuke Fukudome, who is a career .164 hitter against left-handed pitching.
