A day after White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen declared that Jim Thome would not be back with the White Sox, another A.L. Central team signed the veteran slugger to a new deal. Thome will make $1.5 million with a potential $700 thousand in incentives.
Jim Thome Signs With Minnesota Twins
While Thome certainly has his best days in the rearview mirror, he can still be a solid contributor. He hit 23 home runs in 124 games in 2009, and should be a welcomed bat in a Twins lineup that hit .274 against left-handed pitching last season (Thome hit .294).
