Jon Garland, a 30-year old free agent pitcher who won a total of 11 games with a 4.01 ERA in 2009 while pitching for both the Diamondbacks and Dodgers, has apparently agreed to join the Padres, with the deal pending a physical.

Garland was 3-2 with a 2.72 ERA in six starts for Los Angeles after being traded to the Dodgers on Aug. 31.
Since becoming a full-time starter in 2002, Garland has averaged 32.4 starts and 2051/3 innings pitched over eight seasons, with a 107-87 record and 4.38 ERA. He made 32 or 33 starts in each of those seasons and never pitched fewer than 1912/3 innings. He’s pitched at least 200 innings in five of the last six seasons, including 204 last year.
