No. 11 Kansas State Visits Surprising No. 24 Baylor
Waco, TX (Sports Network) - Jacob Pullen scored 25 points and hit two free throws with 8.2 seconds remaining to lift 11th-ranked Kansas State to a 76-74 win over No. 24 Baylor.
Denis Clemente had 17 points and Rodney McGruder 10 for the Wildcats (17-3, 4-2 Big 12), who lost at home to Oklahoma State on Saturday. Kansas State was helped by going 11-of-21 from three-point range, including a 6-of-7 effort from Pullen.
Tweety Carter had 23 points to pace the Bears (15-4, 2-3), who had their Ferrell Center-record 11-game home winning streak broken. Anthony Jones added 12 points and nine rebounds, while Quincy Acy scored 10. Ekpe Udoh had eight points and 14 rebounds for Baylor, which shot 40.7 percent from the field.
Pullen's three-pointer gave Kansas State a 74-70 lead with 64 seconds remaining, but Carter nailed a jumper and then LaceDarius Dunn was credited with a basket with 19.9 left on a goaltending call to tie the game.
Pullen was fouled away from the basket by Dunn and calmly sank both shots. Dunn then attempted a spin move in the lane, but his shot was high off the glass as time expired.
K-State led 39-36 after a tight first half and it remained close right to the final buzzer.
