West Lafayette, IN (Sports Network) - E’Twaun Moore totaled 20 points as 10th- ranked Purdue took down 16th-ranked Wisconsin, 60-57, in a Big Ten battle at Mackey Arena.

JaJuan Johnson had 14 points while Robbie Hummel added 12 points, 13 rebounds and five assists for the Boilermakers (17-3, 5-3 Big Ten), who have won three straight.

Keaton Nankivil went 7-of-8 from the three-point line and totaled 25 points and six rebounds for the Badgers (16-5, 6-3), who had won their previous two. Jordan Taylor had 13 points and five assists in the loss.

Hummel's jumper followed by two free throws from Johnson gave Purdue a six- point lead, and, after a free throw from Trevon Hughes, Moore's layup made it a seven-point game with 2 1/2 minutes to play.

However, Nankivil’s three-pointer, Taylor’s layup followed by another three- ball from Nankivil gave Wisconsin a 57-56 lead with 43 seconds left.

Off a timeout, Moore’s soft, one-handed jumper with 27 seconds left gave Purdue the lead back.

Following another timeout, Hughes’ three-ball shot from the top of the left arc fell short, but the ball went off a Purdue player and Wisconsin got the ball back with six seconds showing on the clock.

After a Wisconsin timeout, Hughes drove the lane and put up a shot off the glass, but it rimmed out and Johnson was fouled with a second left.

He hit both of his shots and a desperation heave was picked off by Purdue to seal the win.

Neither side scored in the first three minutes of the second half, but Jason Bohannon buried a three-ball to help Wisconsin score the first nine points of the half and take a 34-27 lead when Taylor capped the run on a jumper with about 14 1/2 minutes to play.

A bit later, the Boilermakers ripped off nine straight points with Moore’s layup giving the team a 40-38 lead with just over 10 minutes to play.

After a pair of free throws from Taylor tied the game, Purdue tallied off the next eight points and Moore’s layup gave the team a 48-40 lead with 7 1/2 to play.

A Rob Wilson jumper followed by a three-ball from Nankivil cut Wisconsin's deficit to 50-48 with 4 1/2 to play.

The game was tight throughout the first 20 minutes as neither side was able to build a substantial lead.

Hughes’ layup with just under five minutes to play gave Wisconsin a 19-15 lead, but Purdue responded with the next eight points with Hummel’s layup giving the team a 23-19 lead.

From there the score stayed tight and Moore’s layup right before the buzzer gave the Boilermakers a 27-25 lead heading into the break.

Purdue hosts Penn State on Sunday...Wisconsin hosts Michigan State on Tuesday...Purdue, which lost to Wisconsin, 73-66, in Madison on January 9, holds a 103-63 lead in the series.
