With postseason home-field advantage all sewn up, the Colts elected to start Peyton Manning, Dallas Clark and Reggie Wayne against the Bills in snowy Buffalo. Apparently, the team was out to ensure that they met statistical milestones. Wayne and Clark recorded their 100th catches of the season, then the three players left the game.
Colts Set Milestones, Then Pull Starters. Time To Get Furious!
↵Anyone want to moralize on this? Anyone? Hey, you there! Gregg Rosenthal! Say angry things!
↵↵The Indianapolis Colts continue to make a mockery of the final two weeks of the season.
↵[...] It’s bad enough the Colts don’t try to win the game by pulling starters.
It’s a joke they still choose to pad individual stats and over trying to continue a drive.
↵↵Rosenthal is mad that the Colts put their starters on the field to begin with (but for the wrong reasons). Simultaneously, Rosenthal is mad that they pulled said starters for the sake of self-interest. We’re worried about showing the ticket-holders a good game, I suppose? What about the folks who will dish out even more money to watch the Colts in the postseason? Oh, nevermind. The lesson here is that in a league that rewards self-interest, the Colts should go altruistic on our asses and reward our interests instead.
