Now that the 1:00 games of Week 17 have been decided, here’s how the AFC wild card picture looks:
Playoff Scenarios, As Of 4:30 Sunday
↵- The Jaguars and Dolphins are eliminated. Yes, they were alive a few hours ago, but their chances were remote to begin with.
↵- If the Ravens and Jets win, they’re in. The Ravens play the 5-10 Raiders in Oakland, and the Jets host the 10-5 Bengals in this week’s Sunday Night Football match-up.
↵- The Broncos need a win and a loss by either the Ravens or Jets to reach the playoffs. The Broncos play the 3-12 Chiefs in Denver.
↵- The Texans need a loss by any two of these three teams: Ravens, Jets, or Broncos. Houston is still alive for the moment after beating the Patriots, 34-27.
↵- The Steelers need the Ravens, Jets and Broncos to lose. Pittsburgh pulled out a win over the Dolphins, but the Texans’ win makes their playoff future considerably less likely. Can all three of these teams lose? Well, it’s happened before.
