Chris Johnson Becomes Sixth Player To Rush For 2,000 Yards
↵Johnson put a fitting cap on his remarkable season with a remarkable day in the Titans 17-13 win at Seattle on Sunday. First, he broke Marshall Faulk’s record for total yards from scrimmage in one season, finishing with 2,254. Then later in the game, Johnson went over 2,000 rushing yards for the season, becoming just the sixth ever player to accomplish that. Amazingly, Eric Dickerson’s single season record of 2,105 rushing yards seemed within reach at one point, if not for a holding penalty that negated a 62-yard touchdown run.

↵Had [Ed] Hochuli not called holding on fullback Ahmard Hall’s lead block, Johnson would have had 182 of the 234 yards he needed to break Dickerson’s record of 2,105 yards rushing set in 1984.
