It’s official, the Redskins have their man. Mike Shanahan has agreed on a five-year contract with Washington to be their new head coach, as well as the Executive Vice President of football operations, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

More from Schefter: “Shanahan will team with general manager Bruce Allen but have ultimate authority on football decisions.” The Redskins will introduce Shanahan in a press conference Wednesday at 2 p.m. EST.
According to a report in the Denver Post, the deal is worth approximately $7 million a year, equal to what he made in his final year with the Broncos.
