A playoff loss is a disappointment, and it’s a bummer, but I normally wouldn’t describe it as sad. Thanks to Chad Ochocinco, the Bengals’ loss to the Jets is an exception.

↵There he is, midway through a heaving sob, burying his head in another man’s shoulder, hiding the face of a franchise that hasn’t won a playoff game since 1990. It isn’t poignant or inspiring. It isn’t the sort of image you wrap up and dress with the headline, “This Is What The NFL Is All About.” It’s just plain sad, and there is little else to say.
