The Bengals' bad day seemingly got worse with the arrest of Adam "Pac-Man" Jones.

But the Bengals now say it was a case of mistaken identity, and that Jones was released.
The mini-controversy started with a report that claimed Jones hit a pedestrian with his car and included pictures of Jones in handcuffs and in the back of a police car.
Now, Cincinnati Enquirer reporter Joe Reedy says Jones wasn’t charged and was released in a case of mistaken identity.

Pro Football Talk is also reporting that the Bengals say Jones was arrested, then released.
It seems likely at this juncture that Jones was erroneously arrested. But when a rumor about an oft-troubled player hits the Internet, it often seems that the speculation becomes the truth. Let’s hope that isn’t the case with Jones.
