Mark Curnutte at the Cincinnati Enquirer has confirmed that police did in fact handcuff, detain and then release Adam “Pac-Man” Jones Sunday afternoon, though the rumor of it being a case of mistaken identity doesn’t seem to be true.
Bengals’ Pac-Man Jones Detained, Released By Police After Automobile Incident
The incident, in which Jones, 27, drove a silver Jaguar onto the sidewalk near the Reds ballpark, led to Jones being hand-cuffed by officers, police said.
There was an outstanding warrant on the license plates, police said.
A witness said Jones’ car swerved to avoid the car in front of his and jumped the curb onto the sidewalk.
Jones was detained at Paul Brown Stadium, shortly after the Bengals’ 24-21 loss to Tampa Bay. As of this time, he has not been charged with any kind of crime.
