Four years after the Patriots dealt wide receiver Deion Branch to the Seahawks for a first-round pick, New England has traded to get him back from Seattle for a fourth rounder, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Patriots Reacquire WR Deion Branch For 4th Round Pick In Trade With Seahawks
After posting career highs for the Patriots in 2005, the year before he was traded, Branch was mostly a disappointment in Seattle, constantly battling injuries and never besting the 53 catches for 725 yards and four touchdowns he put up his first season with the Seahawks.
Branch was the MVP of Super Bowl XXXIX for the Patriots, tying a Super Bowl record with 11 catches. But Branch held out for a longer contract in 2006 and was traded by New England.
The recent trade of Randy Moss meant the Patriots would likely look to trade for another receiver. The Seahawks gained a 4th rounder in a deal, the same amount the team gave up to acquire running back Marshawn Lynch from the Bills.
