Championship Series are best-of-seven, while Division Series are best-of-five. Additionally, in the second round, the opponents and locations will change. What that means is that the remaining teams may decide to make a slight change to their starting rotations. So where do things stand right now with the Giants, Phillies, Yankees, and Rangers? Here’s the news of the day:
Phillies, Giants, Yankees, Rangers All Preparing Championship Series Starting Rotations
San Francisco Giants
Via Andrew Baggarly:
Game 1: Tim Lincecum
Game 2: Jonathan Sanchez
Game 3: Matt Cain
Game 4: Madison Bumgarner
Philadelphia Phillies
Game 1: Roy Halladay
Game 2: Roy Oswalt or Cole Hamels
Game 3: Roy Oswalt or Cole Hamels
Game 4: Joe Blanton or Roy Halladay
The Phillies haven’t decided if they want Oswalt or Hamels to start Game 2 at home. As for Game 4, the starter there will likely depend on the context of the series, as the team could go with Halladay on short-rest if they badly need a win.
New York Yankees
From MLB.com:
Game 1: CC Sabathia
Game 2: Andy Pettitte or Phil Hughes
Game 3: Andy Pettitte or Phil Hughes
Game 4: A.J. Burnett
As with the Phillies, the Yankees haven’t decided if they want Pettitte or Hughes starting in Texas in Game 2.

All rotations, of course, are subject to change - especially the listed starters in Game 4, as the starters from Game 1 could end up going on three days’ rest.
