Today’s fourth quarter against North Carolina State was more like how Virginia Tech was expected to play this year.
In Progress: Virginia Tech Vs. North Carolina State
The Hokies entered the fourth quarter down 27-21. They ended it with a 41-30 win over the Wolfpack.
Chalk it up to Tyrod Taylor showing up. He led the Hokies on touchdown drives of 59 and 76 yards in the quarter, and thoroughly outplayed his counterpart, Russell Wilson, who threw a game-sealing interception and helped the Wolfpack score just a field goal in the frame.
Taylor finished the day with 123 yards passing and 121 yards rushing, part of a 317-yard day on the ground for Virginia Tech. And the Hokies, left for dead after a loss to James Madison last month, sit atop the ACC Coastal Division.
If this fourth quarter is a preview of things to come rather than an aberration, Virginia Tech might yet resuscitate a season many pronounced over in September.
