No matter what he does, Mike Miller can't help but get hurt. After missing 28 games with the Wizards last season with a variety of ailments, it appears Miller could miss the start of this season with the Heat.
Report: Miami Heat Swingman Mike Miller Suffers Thumb Injury
Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel is reporting that Miller suffered a “serious thumb injury” in practice yesterday.
Miami Heat swingman Mike Miller sustained what appears to be a serious thumb injury on his right, shooting hand during Wednesday's practice at AmericanAirlines Arena, a source close to the situation told the Sun Sentinel today.
ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, now covering the Heat beat, tweets that Miller will receive an MRI today to determine just how severe the injury ends up being. Miller had already been sidelined with a right hamstring injury, so this only adds to the nicks and bruises he currently faces.
If Miller is forced to miss a significant amount of time, it weakens an already shallow Miami supporting cast. James Jones and Eddie House will likely get more minutes in Miller's absence, and neither can do all the things Miller can.
