Didier Drogba Returns For Chelsea’s Clash With Wolves
Didier Drogba missed Chelsea's last league match, a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa, as well as the club's Champions League win over Spartak Moscow. The striker has recovered from what must have been a nasty virus and is ready to take the pitch against Wolverhampton on Saturday.
Wolves must have been crossing all their fingers and toes that Chelsea’s dangerous striker wouldn’t recover for the match at Stamford Bridge, but alas no lucky pennies or voodoo spells were sufficient to keep Drogba at bay. Nicholas Anelka may have been rubbing a rabbit’s foot as well, considering he only scores when Drogba is absent, but in the spirit of team unity he probably didn’t make such feelings known.
Meanwhile, Frank Lampard is still missing in action for the Blues—but hey, the grass is green and the sky blue, so tell me something I wasn’t expecting. The midfielder has been out since August with a groin injury, but Chelsea insist he’ll be back…next week.
