First Rules Of Basketball Worth More Than Some Rookie NBA Players’ Salaries
No,that piece of paper entitled "Basketball" is not your mom's favorite story you wrote in third grade.
It's the original rules of basketball as written by James Naismith in 1891.
So why, you ask, am I showing you these rules 119 years after they were written? Because they're expected to sell for $2 million at an auction in Manhattan on Dec. 10.
$2 million. That's like half of Washington Wizard John Wall's salary. Or $1.74 million more than the bat Babe Ruth used to hit his first home run sold for. It's also about $30,000 more than the salaries of James Johnson, Kurt Thomas and Taj Gibson of the Chicago Bulls. Just sayin'.
